DONALDSON’S APPRAISAL COURSES:

In order to become an appraiser, the first step is to meet your core education requirements in order to apply for a license. These three courses consist of the initial 75 hours required to become an appraiser. The three core appraisal pre-license courses which must be taken are:

  1. Basic Appraisal Principles – 30 Hours
  2. Basic Appraisal Procedures – 30 Hours
  3. 15 Hour National USPAP – 15 Hours

These three courses make up the core 75 hours in order to become a Real Estate Appraiser Trainee. CERTIFIED RESIDENTIAL REAL ESTATE APPRAISER: PRE-LICENSE COURSES

To become a certified residential real estate appraiser, there are certain requirements which must be met first. Please visit our requirements page for details. In addition to the core 75 hours taken to qualify as a real estate appraisal trainee, candidates will also need to complete the additional core courses to satisfy the 200 hour requirement for certified residential appraisers. The additional courses include:

  1. Residential Market Analysis and Highest and Best Use (15 Hours)
  2. Residential Appraiser Site Valuation and Cost Approach (15 Hours)
  3. Residential Sales Comparison and Income Approaches (30 Hours)
  4. Residential Report Writing and Case Studies (15 Hours)
  5. Statistics, Modeling, and Finance (15 Hours)
  6. Advanced Residential Applications and Case Studies (15 Hours)
  7. Appraisal Subject Matter Electives (20 Hours)

Total Hours Required: 200

CERTIFIED GENERAL REAL ESTATE APPRAISER: PRE-LICENSE COURSES
