The Insurance Licensing Process:

  A Step-By-Step Guide

Step 1: Register for Your Insurance Course

Click Here To View Course Options and Register You may also register by calling one of our Customer Service Representatives at 456-1785 in the Greater New Orleans Area or Toll Free at 1-800-257-2741 for any one of our classes in Metairie or Baton Rouge.

Step 2: Submit Your License Application to PSI

We give you the License Application in Class and share with you how to fill it  out, where to send it, and when it is due. You may apply for the licensing test when you start class but may not take the test until you provide proof of your 40 Hour Course.

Step 3: Call PSI 4 Days after Your Application is Submitted to Schedule your exam

You cannot request an exam date until PSI has received your application and approved you as a candidate to take the exam. This usually takes 4-8 Days.

Step 4: When you pass the test, your license is normally issued within 1 week
When you pass the examination (we know you will!), you have completed the process. Your passing information will be electronically submitted to the Louisiana Department of Insurance and your license will be issued usually within 1 week.
